Veterinarians

Dr. B

Dr. B, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. B knew he wanted to be a veterinarian from the first time he heard of the occupation as a child and has worked with animals in one manner or another since the age of 16. Dr. B graduated with his DVM in 1995, from the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!!), and has been a beloved part of the North Suffolk Animal Clinic family since 2007.

Dr. B is accompanied by his wife, daughter, and two dogs (Mozzie & Caffrey) at home. During his downtime, he enjoys tending to his garden and exploring new places in his camper.

Dr. Ariel Cookson Koger

Dr. Ariel Cookson Koger, DVM

Veterinarian

North Suffolk Animal Clinic had the privilege of welcoming Dr. Ariel Cookson Koger to the family in June 2016. After receiving her Bachelor of Animal and Poultry Science at Virginia Tech, Dr. Koger went on to graduate from the Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech. Go Hokies!!

At home, she is accompanied by her husband, children, and four dogs (two dachshund mixes, a mini dachshund, and a golden retriever). Dr. Koger spends most of her free time racing Monster Jam trucks and constructing Hot Wheels tracks with her kids. She also loves curling up with a good book and running local trails with her golden retriever. You can guarantee to find a cup of coffee by her side- no matter the time of day.

Shawnee

Veterinary Assistant

Hi! My name is Shawnee, and I am a veterinary assistant. I have a passion for working with and helping animals in whatever way that I can. Before I moved to Virginia, I worked at an animal shelter in Florida for 3 years, where I learned a lot about animal behavior. I spent most of my time meeting and taking care of new dogs and cats while trying to help them find their furever homes. I have 3 quirky rescue dogs of my own: Abby, Artemis, and Lilly. In my spare time, I like to use my dogs to practice my photography skills, read lots of books, and play video games.

Alison

Receptionist

Hey there, nice to meet you! My name is Alison and I am one of your fun receptionists. I fell in love with veterinary medicine when I started in ER almost 6 years ago and I can say it’s been a journey! I love getting to interact with clients and meet new fur babies. I also enjoy taking continued education courses to learn more about the vet field. There’s just so much to learn! When I’m not working you can find me sipping on iced coffee, snuggling my pups, and watching TV ( Harry Potter most likely)! I have 2 dog: an Australian Shepherd named Dusty and an Aussie Mix named Holly.
